麻雀友 · Mahjong Yau
Terms of Use
The agreement between you and Wolley Ltd for the 麻雀友 app and the optional 麻雀友 Plus subscription. We have kept it short and in plain English.
Effective date: 20 August 2026
1. Who we are
麻雀友 (Mahjong Yau) is made by Wolley Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, number 12588415, at 20–22 Wenlock Road, London N1 7GU. “We” means Wolley Ltd and “the app” means 麻雀友 on any platform, including its web pages such as invitation links.
Using the app means you accept these terms. How we handle personal data is in our Privacy Notice.
2. Using the app
Play as much as you like, on any device you own. The app, its artwork, its tiles and its game engine belong to us; the rules of mahjong do not, and we claim nothing over them. Please do not resell the app or pass it off as your own.
麻雀友 is suitable for all ages. If you are under 18, please play with your parent's or guardian's permission, and do not subscribe without asking whoever pays the bill.
3. Accounts are optional
You can play without signing in. If you do sign in, keep your email or Google account secure, and tell us at hello@wolley.uk if you think someone else has used it. You can delete your account in the app under Settings, or by asking us.
You can play at any age without an account. Having one needs you to be at least 13 — the same line our Privacy Notice draws — and a few countries set that age higher, in which case theirs applies.
4. 麻雀友 Plus
麻雀友 Plus is optional. It renews automatically — monthly or yearly, whichever you pick — and the price and any free trial are shown in the app before you confirm.
We do not take your payment. Apple's App Store or Google Play bills you under its own terms and charges the card on your store account. It renews at the same price for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. A free trial becomes a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. We never see your card details.
If we ever change the price of a subscription you already have, the store will tell you in advance and ask you before charging more.
5. Cancelling and refunds
Cancel in your store settings, not in the app: on iPhone under Settings → your name → Subscriptions, and on Android in the Google Play app under Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep Plus until the period you have paid for runs out.
Refunds are handled by the store that took the payment, under its refund policy — we cannot issue or reverse a store charge ourselves. If you have been charged in error, contact Apple or Google, and tell us if we can help. None of this affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
6. Ads on the free tier
The free tier is paid for by advertising. Subscribers do not see ads. Where consent is required, the app asks through Google's consent form. We do not choose or control the content of an ad, so anything you take up with an advertiser is between you and them.
7. Playing with other people
You can play against the computer, with people nearby, or with friends you invite using a table code. A table code is not a password — anyone who has it can try to join while the table is open, so share it only with the people you want at your table.
The others at your table can see the display name and photo you have chosen, so pick ones you are happy for them to see. Please be decent to the people you play with. We may remove a name or photo that is unlawful or abusive, and step in if an account is being used to harass someone.
8. Scores are not money
麻雀友 keeps score for 跑馬仔 the way mahjong players do — 底分, 番, 馬, and who pays whom at the end of a hand. Those are numbers in a game.
The app does not take stakes, hold money, move money between players, or pay anything out. There is no wallet, no deposit and no withdrawal. Scores cannot be cashed in or exchanged, and have no value outside the game. If you and your friends settle up between yourselves, that is entirely your own arrangement and nothing to do with us. The only money that reaches us is the optional Plus subscription.
9. Fair play
Two things we ask you not to do:
- do not cheat — that means tampering with the app, automating play, or using a bug to change a result or see tiles you were not dealt;
- do not attack our servers, or try to reach accounts, tables or data that are not yours.
If you find a security problem, please tell us privately at hello@wolley.uk. We will not treat a good-faith report as a breach of these terms.
10. The app will change, and sometimes break
We keep the app and its online play running as best we can, but we cannot promise it is always available or always faultless. Play can be interrupted by maintenance, your network, your device, or the services we rely on. We may add, change or retire features, and we may need you to update to a supported version to keep playing online, because older builds stop connecting when the game protocol changes.
11. If something goes wrong
If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result of it. We are not responsible for things outside our reasonable control, such as your network or an app store outage.
We do not limit anything the law says we cannot limit — that includes death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, and your statutory rights as a consumer, which stay exactly as they are. If you use the app for business, we are not liable for lost profit, revenue or data, and our overall liability is limited to what you have paid us in the previous twelve months.
12. Ending this
You can stop at any time by deleting the app and cancelling any subscription as described above. We may suspend or end access if you seriously break these terms — cheating or attacking our servers, in particular — or if the law requires it. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first. Any refund is a matter for the store that took your payment, under its own policy.
13. Law, changes and contact
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes can be brought in its courts. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can use your own courts instead, and if you live outside the UK you keep the consumer protections your own country gives you.
We may update these terms when the app changes. The effective date above shows the latest version, and we will give reasonable notice of anything that materially affects you. If you would rather not accept a change, you can stop using the app and cancel your subscription.
Anything to ask, write to hello@wolley.uk or to Wolley Ltd, 20–22 Wenlock Road, London N1 7GU. Please talk to us first if something has gone wrong — it is faster than a court for both of us. For help with the game, see the 麻雀友 support page.
